These weird and wonderful earrings feature vintage 1950’s blinking eyes set under a thin slab of quartz. These lenticular displays—also called “Winkie Blinkies”—were invented and crafted in a no longer functioning factory not far from my studio in upstate New York. This pair is embellished with rich blue green Indonesian opalwood tear drops. Everything is set in fine and sterling silver.

Earrings measure about 2 1/4”.

I’ve been thinking so much about weathering the storms of these challenging times. About the moods and thoughts that cross my mind as I watch events unfold half way around the world. I feel that our best option is to stay connected to a sense of beauty and playfulness and humanity.
