These pieces are part of a collection using lenticular winking displays set under quartz. These animated treasures, often called “Winkie Blinkies” or “Winkies” were invented in the 1930s by a company that used to be near where my studio is now. They speak of nostalgia, perception, transformation, playfulness, whimsy, technology…the list goes on.

I have spent the last year refining the process of breaking down the original design and recreating it so that I can offer this wonderful design to more people. They are still printed for me by a business local to the Hudson Valley.

The winkies are set in silver, under clear quartz.

Flame setting measures just over 1 1/2” x 1/2”

The rings have sterling silver ring shanks, the pendants have 14k gold bails.

The brooch pin backs are stainless steel and will pin best on knit fabric.
