These charms are part of a collection using lenticular winking eyes set under quartz. These vintage treasures, often called “Winkie Blinkies” or “Winkies” were invented in the 1930s by a company that used to be near where my studio is now. They speak of nostalgia, perception, transformation, playfulness, whimsy, technology…the list goes on. So I have chosen to make them the stars of my work for a little while and see what happens.

Each of these charms is one of a kind and cannot be repeated. The winkies are set in silver, under clear quartz.
